Chapter 1: Hope
Golden rays of early morning sunshine cascaded gently down, reflecting off the slick stone of the slow growing stalactites and stalagmites in the Home-cave. The cheerful tittering of the early birds softly filtered down, down into the darkness past the golden waves of light, to fall upon the ears of the caves residence. The season was late enough into summer that the cool cave was swiftly warmed by the quickly migrating rays of sunshine, and with the warmth and tittering, the blood began to move. Groggy in the early morning hours that one resident had been awoken to; he slowly got up on his strong thick limbs and began to walk toward the light. Within a few seconds he had stepped out into the sun that had managed to reach inside the cave, only his head though was illuminated by the golden light. Earthy tones of green shone bright in the morning sun, the green of his scales, scales hard enough to turn away arrows and most blades,
That was tough... I had to pick wisely through many favourites....
