Baby Girl

1 min read
So my daughter is now a month and 10 days old, I love her so much but my life has also changed so much because of her. I never could've fathomed how much a child changes a man's life until she was born. It still astounds me. I won't be doing much critiquing anymore art for a good while, as between work, Alanna, my wife, and chores, I don't have much time for deviantart, but I'm glad to see of the people I have watched and given critiques to, all have improved dramatically! it makes me so happy to have helped so little and yet made such a big difference. Good luck to all of you, and keep making great art! Express yourself!

1. Tell you why I befriended you.
2. Associate you with something- random, a song, a color, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
4. Tell you a memory of you that I try to remember.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite deviation of yours.
7. Tell you what I'd do if we were in the same room right now.
8. If you and I are handcuffed together in a cop car. Using only 3 words ,what I would say to you.
9. In return, you must post this in your journal....and if you don't.....I guess you'll miss out on the fun with your watchers ;3

And very quickly became a nightmare. The dream started out with me in a strange body. one that wasn't my own. I was with a boy who was a few years younger than I, and I felt as though he was my brother. I was also with a taller girl, who had no relations, she was just a friend to us. It was dark outside, and we were having fun playing in the well-lit parking lot in front of the store. Pushing the other two around in a cart; eventually, though, it lost it's fun. We ventured into the store, and it was still bustling with people, most of whom were doing their jobs getting the store ready for the following day, but a few stragglers who were getting some things they needed. Dawn struck through the windows. We met a woman we knew was our mother, and her caretaker. She was fairly sick, something was wrong with her breathing. After we finished getting the groceries she needed, and finished with checkout, we began to pull the cart towards the door and into the parking lot. Out in the parking lot, A man ran up to us and stole her purse. She did her best to muster a scream, and ran to follow him into the store. He ran behind the register, which no longer had anyone running it, and it seemed as though no one else was around to help us in our dilema. I met eyes with the burglar, and threatened his life. I ran up and attacked him with fist and foot, but he kept dodging me. Feeling pointless I grabbed a can of nearby flammable (very flammable ) pesticide/spray paint, and a zippo lighter. I threatened the burglar again, but this time instead of a retort or simply running or avoiding me, he turned and grabbed a can himself, and then a few more. I lit mine and threw it at him, but it fell short and exploded, starting a small fire. All of us ignoring this in the shock of the situation, ran to follow him to the back of the store. An overweight man shouted at us to help him put it out, and turning I saw it grow nearer to the shelf which held the explosive cans. Sprinting back at top speed, I couldn't get anywhere near before they began to blow up one by one, feeding this new fire, creating a demon like flame. I turned and picked up my younger brother, and grabbed my sisters' hand. I ran them out before the fire got too out of hand with its new fuel. I told them to go to the car, and stay there. I ran back in and held my arm between my burning lungs and the hot smoke, to dampen the heat with my sleave. I ran over to my coughing mother, picking her up with newfound strength. I told her first to breath and hold it in, but realized this would burn her lungs and fill them with ash. I told her let all the air out and hold it out, as I ran towards the side entrance, away from the fire, and towards the fire fighters who were just showing up. At this point in the dream, my consciousness switched from the heroic boy who saved his family from a fire he started trying to protect them towards a rogue firefighter who had it in his mind he had to save all of them. He didn't want a single soul in the fire to be lost today, and he rushed in recklessly in his incomplete fire fighting suit, he had only the torso and pants, with a backpack of his own on for things the burning would not leave. He lacked a helmet or breather, and braved the hot smoke with no protection against it save a strong will. He entered the building, turning his head left to right from the side entrance. He could see the massive flame now engulfing the whole of the front of the store, and slowing wrapping its way along the opposing wall, towards the back of the store. Licks of flame had jumped into the middle of the building, and smoke had engulfed it all. Something was different with my new host, because he breathed easily in the smoke, and saw through it well without tear or pain in his eyes. I finally had control of my dream again, and was no longer just watching. I ran in and grabbed a boy, throwing him onto my shoulders, and grabbed the older woman who had clutched him in my arms, using an arm to steady both, I made my way out of the store again, and left the two against a wall outside the store nearby a firetruck, so the paramedics could begin assisting them. I ran back in to find a hispanic couple who would not let go to their things, so I grabbed them, shoved them in my bag, and with body language alone told the woman to ride on my shoulders, as I helped the man to his feet. After carrying them both out I turned around, and somehow I no longer had the fire suit on, I ran in to find people had lined the wall near the door, unable to leave of their own volition. The air had taken a demonic voice. Everything was red or black, and skulls were everywhere. burnt corpses now lined the floor. I ran into the deli's freezer for shelter from the heat and blood. Taking a cautious peak out of the freezers door, I saw the original burglar's body, not mangled at all or damaged for the smoke or heat, in a fire suit now and lighting his original cans of the explosive fluid which started the fire. A man who couldn't escape told everyone there they had minutes to be rescued, or they would be doomed to a firestorm engulfing them all. I heard this man and quickly helped several out of the door. When I returned he had been right. Everything was engulfed in flame. Enduring it, I returned to the freezer, and fear struck me. I glanced out of the door to witness the summoning of a demon of flame. A literal one. It was huge, going halfway to the large ceiling of the building. and flame swirling around it. It knew I was there. It turned and began towards me. I drew a circle with my finger in the ash and it took me to a loadstone. Quickly three other people and myself drew a symbol around it to seal it against the demon. As we finished, I awoke.
